RFID Kit Tracking

The Challenge: Health care device and implant suppliers provide customers with consignment inventory kits that must be replenished after use. The process of tracking which items have been used and replenishing the kits is a time consuming process that involves scanning barcodes on dozens of items remaining to determine what was missing. This process is essential to ensure accurate replenishment and customer billing.

The Solution: ODIN technologies developed the medical kit tracking solution to automate the tracking, replenishment, validation and shipping for medical kits. This solution can be extended to nearly any medical or other kit tracking need.

RFID-enabled Medical Cabinets

The Challenge: Manufacturers often have difficulty tracking consigned products out at hospitals and in doctors’ offices. In addition, cardiology, radiology and other lab staff have a hard time tracking inventory in the department, and expiration and recall management becomes unruly and time consuming.

The Solution: With RFID, consigned inventory can be tracked automatically in real time. RFID enabled medical cabinets allow field reps to manage inventory levels, expiration dates and recalls quickly, easily and remotely, while allowing the home office to manage overall field inventory. ODIN deploys RFID enabled medical cabinets that automate manual consigned inventory management tasks. Hospitals, distributors and suppliers experience many benefits including:

RFID for ePedigree Tracking

The Challenge: Pharmaceutical manufacturers constantly look for ways to improve drug security by reducing counterfeit and diversion in the supply chain. To date labeling allows manufacturers to keep tabs on different lots of product, but tracking items individually becomes cumbersome in distribution and at the pharmacy.

The Solution: With RFID, drugs can be tracked at the item level throughout the supply chain. Individual packages are tagged at manufacturing and then read serially, in-bulk throughout the distribution chain. ODIN developed ePedigree solutions for major Pharmaceutical manufacturers and distributors. The read points include tag application, case packaging, tote tracking throughout distribution and item level tracking and authentication at the pharmacy. With RFID, the entire drug supply chain becomes more efficient and secure.
